The Starting Point

The pages were plain. No real layout, no hierarchy, and nothing to give the vessels any presence on screen. The work was good and the site in front of it was not saying so.

Photography First

Every page opens on the ceramics at full width. Type and navigation sit underneath, quiet enough that nothing argues with the photography.

There was no new shoot. We designed around the studio's own images, and those set the crops, the pacing, and how much room each piece needed.

Named Collections

The work is grouped into named collections rather than one long scrolling grid. You land on a collection, read what holds it together, then move to a single vessel on its own page with its size, its material, and the thinking behind the form.

The Installations Section

Garden and landscape installations are the awkward content type here. They are neither pieces for sale nor news posts, so they take a section of their own, one page per project, instead of a line in a portfolio grid.

Workshops and Enrollment

The studio teaches, in person and online. Sessions live in their own section with what each one covers and a form at the end, so a potter can read about a session and sign up without writing to ask how.

Inquiry, Not Checkout

A vessel at this scale does not sell itself through a cart. Each one ends on an inquiry and the studio takes the conversation from there, which is how work like this is actually bought.

The Handover

The site runs on Squarespace, so the studio adds vessels, posts news and opens new workshop dates without coming back to us. It is live, and they run it.
